I’m using Ubuntu so far, but have been interested in Zorin OS. I just saw that it has something called “Windows App Support” where you can open some Windows apps directly in Linux. Does anybody have experience with this? I had no idea. Is it as good as VM’s or Wine? Better, worse?
It also seems to be based on Ubuntu, may be not that different than Ubuntu (?), and is compatible with the same apps (they say).
From what I read, it just uses Wine and so if they software isn’t support by wine, then it isn’t supported on Zorin any differently than any other linux distribution.
I prefer (for the most part) to use a VM for my windows applications so that I can isolate it into a specific container.
OK, thanks! I’ll look into that aspect more thoroughly.
I have Oracle VM Virtual Box installed on Ubuntu, and am reading up on using that, so will probably go that route. I’m still interested in Wine though and may try that on Ubuntu as well. I guess Zorin just has Wine as a pre-installed app, from what you’re saying.
