Yes, these are Kernel upgrades, which come with security patches and new driver support. Mainly the former. So, it’s quite safe. Also, keep in mind that Linux tends to keep a couple of back-versions of the Kernel, just in case.
That is the beauty of FOSS. when microsh@ft gives an update they say what it will do (supposedly) and upgrade everything blindly. With Linux when you upgrade or download something that requires you to update other files (dependencies) the new version needs, it tells you that it is going to update those files - keeping you in the loop about what is going on with everything.
