Where’s a reputable place online to buy newer used laptops?
This is a good place to get used or refurbished equipment. Great for learning on.

Thank you. I’m upgrading my parents to linux but their laptop is falling apart, literally, so no sense upgrading that machine. Also don’t want them spending hundreds on a new one.
Amazon has used laptops too. But, I would also do some research to figure out whether you can install Linux on the model that you’re interested in. Also check to see whether you can add memory or replace the internal hard drive if necessary. Make a list of the minimum features and connectivity desired so that you pick the correct machine.
