Ubuntu 22.04 "Backups" utility does not reveal where the data is

The about selection alerts you to the fact it is GNU freeware Deja Dups.
Went to gnu.org but could not find it in the manuals? Missed it?

A Brave search came up with this link that shows where the output went.
The app in the tutorial does not match current, the current one does not have output location (2 years old example)…do I have to reinstall Deja Dups?

Also could not locate any file using the file app

Deja Dups is at version 42.9

Somewhere along the line the output location was moved to "preferences where I found it. Still could not write directly to USB, but was able to copy the folder.

Direct write attempt gave me “not a directory” error using the device name.
