This window looks like the disc image of etcher itself in the Mac disc utility. You need to open this disc image and run the etcher program. This disc image should not be on the usb. You run etcher to flash the disc image (iso) of ubuntu or mint onto the usb, which makes it bootable. If you have done this, disregard, otherwise I hope this will help
