Great news…Onwards and upwards! Good luck
Running into issues with Zorin OS on a system that’s using AMD hardware and B&O audio, not NVIDIA. Here’s a breakdown of what you can do:
- Reverting to Your Current Kernel : If you installed Zorin and it doesn’t work as expected or if you face compatibility issues, you can easily revert to your previous kernel.
- Boot into your existing kernel : If you have other kernel versions installed, you can select the previous one from the GRUB menu during boot. To do this, when your computer is starting, hold the Shift key (or Esc key, depending on your system) to access the GRUB menu. From there, select the kernel version you want to boot into and press Enter .
- Reinstall the Previous Kernel : If the kernel has been overwritten or removed:
- Boot into a live session (using Zorin from the USB).
- Open a terminal and run sudo apt install Linux-image- (replacing with the kernel version you want).
- Once installed, reboot, and you should be able to select it from the GRUB menu.
- Backup & Restore : If you’re unsure about kernel changes, it’s always a good idea to have a backup of your system or use tools like Timeshift to create restore points.
