Recently I bought a Lenovo Yoga 6th Gen ThinkPad 11e 2-in-1 Laptop Windows 10 Pro 8GB RAM 256GB SSD. This is very nice! But …
I intended putting Ubuntu on this. Can not install from USB. Even tried my external hard drive.
1The ISO have been burned by Rufus,
went through BIOS.
2 Read the BIOS topics here on the forum put in buy others
3 Downloaded Tunic to install from within Windows.
4 Changed everything around in BIOS to the point I couldn’t boot into Windows! Fixed that, 98%.
5 One time the grub> prompt came up. Don’t remember how I got around that except read where a guy did control alt delete … the old standby that use to fix most things in Windows!
6 Came across Boot category in BIOS that listed EXCLUDED FROM BOOT PRIORITY ORDER! Which was USB FDD, USB HDD San Disk Cruzer Glide, USB CD.
Tried to upload a picture.
Now I believe this Thinkpad had been part of a Corporation hand outs to certain employees. They blocked all input so nothing could be altered/changed.
I did find out how to remove the block. Now HDD comes up as a choice from F12. Though it doesn’t do anything after being selected.
It’s a learning experience, this is the first computer, Lenovo Thinkpads, or any computer that I’ve had this problem. Need help.
Thank you in advance,
