Iphone for hotspot but doesn't show in file manager for transferring photos

Been using Linux Mint 20 for 3 years on an HP and Dell.
Always noticed that the Dell recognizes the iphone in File Manager but not the HP, although I use the iphone for hotspotting/charging on both laptops.
I now want to transfer photos from the iphone to the HP but cannot as the iphone is not recognized for such.
Any ideas?
