Installation Options for Telegram on Linux

What is the best way to install Telegram on Linux? Official Telegram link or Ubuntu snap app? Not sure what the difference is…

The best way is by Flatpak format. The official repositories are usually a step behind the actual release. You may need to take some steps to enable flatpaks but they will stay up to date versus other methods.

Thank you @DaleGribble! I’m a total Linux beginner. How do I install / run the instructions, not sure where the terminal is?

Something with pictures to match up what you see. Should get you going.

Thanks so much @DaleGribble, very helpful

Is this the best /easiest way for newbies to add on for Cinnamon users.
Thx

Yes even the same commands would work, as Mint is based of Ubuntu.

Hi everyone - fellow newbie here!
With my new Linux computer my instinct was to find
an app for Telegram. Instead I decided to do it another way.
With the Brave browser I went to the Telegram.org website.
I clicked ‘apps’ at the top. Then I scrolled down to Web apps,
and I selected the first option ‘Telegram WebZ’. Its nice so I
bookmarked it. If you’re looking for a desktop Telegram this
might be for you too.
