My scanner is not working. I am running Linux Mint 22.1. I also am using an HP Envy 4502. The printer works fine but not the scanner. It sees the scanner but will not scan. How can I fix?
Not sure what program you’re trying to use. Xsane has to worked for me on HP/Samsung/Cannon
Look for it.
What happens when you attempt to scan?
I use the included Mint 22.1 document scanner on my HP Office Jet Pro, and my HP Pavilion laptop. It finds the printer on the network every time.
You should be able to go to https://www.hamrick.com/ and download a free version of VueScan. Try VueScan to see if your scan function works again. (the free version leaves a watermark on the page that will disappear if you purchase it.)
Open your synaptic package manager and check to see what version of HPLIP you have installed.
Search for… HPLIP 3.25.2
This is now preinstalled on Mint 21.3
If its not running on your system then you can download it and install it.
I think this may solve your problem.
I am using Mint 22.1. When I type in “synaptic”, nothing come up;
HPLIP 3.25.2 will not verify. It says in the dowlnoad “Unverified download blocked” when I try to download HPLIP 3.25.2.
Was this a fresh install of 22.1 or was it an update from 21.3?
Open your Software manager and search for Synaptic package Manager in there and see if it installed.
I downloaded HPLIP from the HP website. Try that. Works fine.
