Well @benhamin I should have paid more attention to this sooner… I finally followed your advice and grabbed my old win-7 laptop that I’ve been daily driving for the last 8 years or so…it’s been laying on the floor in the corner since I started this whole disaster… took it out to the shop and blew out the dust… added the old memory left over from when I updated my Father’s laptop to give it total of 8 Gb of ram. and swapped out the old drive with first 2 Tb drive that I messed up and installed Pop!_OS…smooth sailing…shut it down and transferred the drive to the newer laptop that has given me all the head aches …crossed my fingers and hit the starter… and it booted right up…
