Handy cache flusher command

Oh geez… hope I didn’t do that! (Sure wouldn’t want to clean it up!lol)
One thing I’d like to ask is what’s meant by 53 “bad sectors”, then temps???
(Don’t say Key West or Antarctica!ha)

Very observant! Well noticed.
My disk is on the way out.
I already have a new one cloned…ready to go.
I’ll crunch this disk with Spinrite and try to repair the sectors when it gets worse.

I have 65000+ of those! Is my disc dying? Is Spinrite something I can download/use to clean that up?

YES!
Watch these 2 vids to get a better understanding of how this works.
Then we will chat about how to create a spinrite boot disc.

OK… done… do I go to grc.com and buy it now?
Next question: do I need a new thumb drive or can I throw it on one I already have since it’s only 197k?
Next: can I put it on a CD? I have a bunch of blank ones.

Dont buy it.
Do you have access to a PC running Windows?

I’ve got a VERY OLD laptop but don’t know if it will even start up! What would we do with that… load it on there?
I have that Seagate external hard drive…any value there???

Spinrite is a windows executable.
It’s a simple few clicks to burn a spinrite boot disc on windows.
Doing a spinrite boot disc on linux is far more complicated.

Try and get your windows lappy booted.

As far as the spinrite program goes I can give you that.
Are you on Telegram?

I’ll get it out tomorrow and see what it’ll do… yep, on Telegram…Lady355 (George Washington’s only female spy! 8))
THANK YOU! You’re awesome!
(I was concerned about the dough now that I’m retired and poor!)

Is your account name @Lady355_Hahs ?

Yep, had to bastardize my last name, but that’s right… I didn’t think the Hahs was on there but apparently it is.
Are you phobos7?

I’ve got the Toshiba up and running but now remember another reason it’s dead>>no ‘G’ key…
