My Frame Work story: As I caught on to all the steeling and reselling of my private information in 2021 (it was much worse than I thought), I ditched Microsoft and Apple, reformatted my Imac, and migrated to Ubuntu. Last week I purchased a Framework 13" DIY laptop and loaded Fedora 40. I know that there are a few other good companies, but I am impressed with the modular design where you have full control and can replace any part, upgrade key components, and customize like never before, and at about half the price of a MacBook. Assembly took me about an hour and getting Fedora set up took another hour. I am very happy with this decision.
Glad to hear you are satisfied with your Framework computer. They do get high marks. More proof that doing the right thing for customers and making great products never goes out of style.
On another related note the “right to repair” is an important one and Framework is leading the way in demonstrating how important it is. Hopefully consumers will realize the power they have to influence manufacturers with their buying decisions and insist on such a right, because we’ve seen more of the big companies trying to take rights away than not, in recent times.
