I have an old Hp Compaq Presario, did full install of Ubuntu 20.04 and now have a flashing screen. Have tried to change brightness/auto dimming and screen resolution. No luck. Any help is appreciated.

Perhaps any of the methods below in the article may help. It’s a bit older, so I would recommend skipping method 3.
