Antivirus Recommendation

Looking for recommendations on a solid antivirus (preferably free) for a Linux newbie.

Currently using Linux Mint 20.3.

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks all.

Hey @pjhnc and welcome to the forums!
Linux is not prone to viruses. At least nowhere near the sense Windows is vulnerable to them. However, if you wish to install an antivirus, I recommend ClamAV. You can install it by opening a terminal and executing:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install clamav clamtk

One line at a time (press enter at the end of each line). The first command will update the databases, so that your OS finds what it needs. The second will perform the installation.
It will ask you for your password (it won’t be visible, so don’t be alarmed) and press enter.

Once the installation is complete, you can go to the start menu and type in Clam and the antivirus will appear. It will have a graphic user interface, which you can use to run (and schedule) your scans.

Thank you very much for your prompt response and suggestion. Good day!
