Okay, I’m running Ubuntu and Libre Office. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the software, rebooted my computer, shut it down, restarted… and nothing seems to be working. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
I wanted to download a “Western” themed font for a project that I could use in LibreOffice 26.2 Writer. I went to Google Fonts and found 4 or 5 that I like and downloaded them. After extracting them, I opened them by double clicking on the .ttf file and the fonts tool popped up. I then clicked on Install and it seemed to work just fine. I restarted libre office… and nope. I rebooted, same.
I opened the terminal and ran “fc-cache -f -v” and it looked like it did something… but still, the western font doesn’t show up in Libre Office.
I’ve read the articles like this one (https://www.libreofficehelp.com/install-fonts-libreoffice-openoffice/) that say it’s easy. I must be doing something wrong.
…just enough knowledge to really be dangerous,
