Accessing a Cisco switch using Linux

I’ve done this years ago using Windows but I need to figure it out using Linux. I have a Cisco Catalyst 2960 that I need to reset to factory settings. I have not found enough to be of any help. If anyone has any ideas please share. Thanks in advance!!

PS. I don’t have the password to get in using the gui. I bought it off the internet and it works but I’d feel better having control for updates, lan options, etc.

So a friend in IT at a local school district sent me this link. I was able to do the reset using a cable I already had (usb-a/usb-mini). Very helpful.
