09 McBook Pro needs new battery and a Power Management Calibration on already installed Kubuntu os. I found a place to buy a replacement battery for a 2009 MacBook Pro 17 in. I did not think to replace the battery before putting Kubuntu on it. This video made by macsales dot com where I am buying the battery shows how to replace the battery which is easy but at min 3.5 it shows a procedure called calibrating Power Management System through the Mac OS. I would need to do this through Linux command line likely since I did not think to change battery before overwriting it with Kubuntu.
