Intel at "heart" of Linux hardware?

Linux is software, and frees us from Microsoft and Apple.
One person said that Intel is the heart of Linux hardware. Does not make sense to me
so I thought to ask those who know much much more?

Intel is a primarily a chip (CPU) maker which is the heart of any computer. Linux also supports AMD and ARM chips, so its really hardware agnostic.
