Bootable USB resulting in Grub> on 2017 Lenova Ideapad. Help?

If it does indeed look like it is stuck, no harm will be done if we abort this and start it again. Holding down you power button for 10 seconds will perform a hard shut off. Then just repeat again the same steps.

Okay. Good to know about the Hard Shutoff deal.
Thanks.

shouk i download updates while installing?

As long as you have connected to your WiFi successfully, its a good time saver to do this.

i didn’t go thru that, so will update later, methinks.
What about 3rd party…??

I would enable that just so Ubuntu can find better drivers if possible

Okay…here goes…
I appreciate your time!

SUCCESS!! I am so excited to begin this journey.

I bought a System76 for myself while practicing with the live Ubuntu USB, but now, with your amazing, efficient answers to all my questions, made a bootable disk and replace Windows with Ubuntu!

I was very nervous so THANK you for sticking by my side. I am so grateful, Michael! :exclamation::+1:t2: Great job

Judy,

Thank you for the kind words and I’m very happy to have helped you solve your problem.

I also love the products by the team at System76 and as soon as I get tired of my 10 year old desktop, I will be picking up a 76 for myself. Pop OS is one of my favorite distros and miss their unique auto tiling feature when I’m using anything else.

Good luck and happy new year!

Michael
